This crewneck sweatshirt is a revival of the early "Reverse Weave®" model, originally developed in 1934 and patented in 1938. The "Reverse Weave®" manufacturing process was devised by Sam Friedland, a salesman with experience as a cutter at the venerable American menswear store Hickey Freeman. Faced with customer complaints about shrinkage from washing, Friedland experimented and ultimately created this method, which uses fabric originally intended for vertical use in a horizontal direction to successfully reduce shrinkage. In this revival, features such as seamless shoulders made from a single piece of fabric and the faithful reproduction of the original pattern from tubular sweatshirts are meticulously recreated. The collar label from the era, which did not display "Reverse Weave®", is also inherited. Additionally, the left sleeve remains without the C logo patch, consistent with the original specifications.
