Champion is an American manufacturer of clothing, specializing in sports, athletic wear. The brand is a subsidiary of HanesBrands, Inc. Champion was established in 1919 by the Feinbloom brothers.

At Champion, we respect our consumers (“visitor”, “you”, “your”) and recognize the importance of protecting the privacy and security of your information.  This Consumer Privacy and Cookie Notice (“Notice”) provides an overview of the practices of Champion and its affiliates, subsidiaries and associates (“Champion”, “we”, “our”, “us”) with respect to the collection, use  and disclosure of personal data about consumers.  Personal data is any information that can identify you as an individual, such as your name and contact information.

The term “consumer”, “your” and “you”, as used in this Notice, in intended to refer to Champion consumers and visitors who use or access our Services to the Site. This Notice applies only to this Site. This Notice applies to Personal Data collected on our websites or applications, in our retail stores, or one of our other products or services (the “Services”).

This Notice does not apply to or govern third-party companies (including, without limitation, their websites, platforms, or applications) which we do not own or control. These sites may have their own privacy notices and terms and conditions that you should consult.

Champion will seek to obtain your consent about the collection and use of your personal data where required by applicable law. Champion respects your decisions about the collection and use of your personal data. You have the ability to revoke your consent at any time subject to applicable legal obligations, and you may do so by clicking an "unsubscribe" link included in a communication or by contacting Champion using the contact information provided in this Notice.

In accordance with applicable law, Champion will collect information about you in different ways, such as:

• When you purchase a product or register for a competition, promotion, or newsletter; or
• When you visit and use our Services; or
• Through third parties such as our business partners or commercial available sources.

We will only collect the information needed to fulfill the purposes described to you when requesting this information.  If you choose not to provide certain information, we may not be able to provide you with the products or services that you have requested, or inform you about our products and offers from Champion.

As permitted by applicable law, the information that Champion collects about you may be combined to help improve your user experience and to enhance our products and services that you may be of interest to you.

Champion will collect information from you when you access or use the Services. For example, you may provide such information when you buy a product, subscribe to various services such as email communications, post reviews or other user-generated content, compile a "My Favorites" list or other product list, participate in contests, respond to a survey, or communicate with customer service. We may also collect information from other commercially available sources, where we are permitted to do so by applicable law. Below are examples of the information we may collect directly from you:

• Contact  information such as your email address, postal address, and telephone or mobile number

• Recording when you call our customer services team

When collecting personal data directly from you, those fields that are mandatory or optional will be clearly indicated.  If you do not wish to provide the information requested within mandatory fields, we will be unable to process your request or order.

Champion and service providers acting on our behalf, use cookies, web beacons, Flash cookies (also known as locally shared objects) and cookie technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) to receive and store certain types of information whenever you view our promotions and advertisements, or when you use our Site.  This information may include the pages you visit on our Site, the web address from which you came, the type of browser / device / hardware you are using, purchase information and checkout process information, search terms and mobile geographic location, and the Champion emails you open.

As permitted by applicable law, Champion may collect information about you from other sources, such as our business partners and through commercially available sources.  Examples of the information we may collect from other sources include your name, contact information such as your email address or postal address, your date of birth, consumer and market research data including purchase behavior, and any publicly observed data or activities, such as blogs, videos, internet posting, and other user-generated content.

We also obtain information from third parties.  For example, portions of the Site may include features or widgets from various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and YouTube (each, a "Social Media Platform"), and we may enable you to register or log in to the Site through a Social Media Platform. These features use Cookies to collect information about your IP address and the pages on our Site that you have visited. Your interactions with those features are governed by the terms of use and privacy policies of the companies that provide them.

Champion uses the information it collects about you and your use of our Services for a variety of reasons related to our business operations and as set forth in this Notice, such as to provide you with products or services that you have requested, to manage and improve our websites and the services we offer you, and provide you with information about other Champion products or offers. 

We can only process your data for certain reasons and, in any case, always in the presence of a legal basis that allows us to do so. Here is why we process your data: 

The data is processed to provide our Services to you and to operate and improve our Services, the user experience, and our business. This may include allowing you to register an account to use our website and the services reserved for registered users, to purchase and return products that are available on our site and in our stores, including any administrative and accounting formalities. In this case, the legal basis is the contract and legitimate interest. Champion may also combine the data of your online and brick-and-mortar purchases and communicate them to other companies of the group to which it belongs in the event of the offer of loyalty programs within the scope and within the limits of the relevant regulations, in which case the legal basis is your consent.

The processing of your data is necessary for preliminary information and for the execution of the related contract. 

The processing of your data is possible based on our legitimate interests or those of third parties, provided that they do not prevail over your rights and freedoms. Legitimate interests may concern:

As a global organization, Champion relies on third party service providers to perform various business operations on our behalf.  When sharing your personal data with our third party service providers, we will only share the information they need to perform the services we request, and we require that they protect this information and not use it for any other purpose.  For example, we may use services provides for the following purposes:

• Fulfill your product requests including managing payment processing and shipping
• Manage promotions or competitions
• Host our sites and deliver our email or other communications
• Analyze our data, sometimes along with data from other sources, to send you communications
• Conduct market research and analyze data to improve our products, services and sites

In the event that Champion or any of its affiliates are all or part acquired by a third party, your information may be included in the transferred assets.  Subject to the exceptions described below, Champion does not sell, rent, or make available to any third party whatsoever the personal data collected by the Services.

Champion often works with carefully selected business partners to offer joint promotions or products that may be of interest to you.  Where permitted by applicable law, we will combine information about you with our business partners so that we can send promotional communications to you.  For these programs, we will make it clear when collecting your personal data that your information will be shared with our carefully selected business partners and ask for your consent to do so, as required by applicable law.

We may disclose your personal data, if we believe that doing so is necessary to protect and defend the right and property of Champion including enforcing our Terms and Conditions, or where we are required to do so by law and / or government authorities.

We may share aggregated or anonymous information that does not identify you for Champion business purposes.  For example, we may disclose the number of visitors to our websites.  We may also share aggregated or anonymous information with our business partners for their own business purposes, in accordance with applicable law. 

Some Champion sites allow users to submit their own content for contents, or to participate in blogs etc.  Any information you submit or post as user-generated content to Champion websites will become publicly available information.  We recommend that you to exercise caution when deciding to disclose any information in such submissions or posts.  Champion cannot prevent others from using this information in a manner that may violate this Notice, the law, or your personal privacy and safety.  Champion is not responsible for the results of such postings.

As a global organization, your information may be transferred within the Champion organization located in a country that is different in which you live, or to our trusted third parties based in other countries so that they can process your information on our behalf.  This may include the transfer of your information to the United States.  By using this website or providing information to Champion, you consent to us transferring this information in accordance with the terms of this Notice and as permitted by applicable data protection law.

Champion will comply with applicable data protection laws when transferring your information to another country, and has taken appropriate safeguards to ensure that the transfer of data to our affiliates and suppliers outside of the EU/EES is adequately secure and protected. This has been done through the execution of standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission.

Champion has implemented administrative, physical, and technical measures to protect your information from loss or unauthorized use or alteration.  Your information is stored in a secured environment and access to your information is restricted to prevent against unauthorized access, modification or misuse and permitted to only those employees or third parties working on our behalf, on a need to know basis.

Champion will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, unless  a different timeframe is required or permitted by law. In general, we will keep your personal data for as long as your Champion account is active, but no longer than 24 months of inactivity. At any time, you may opt out of data processing by sending an email to privacy.championeurope@hanes.com or by clicking the “unsubscribe” link on our emails to restrict promotional advertising.

As permitted by applicable law, you have a right of access, rectification and deletion of information collected about you, and the right to oppose, for legitimate reasons, the processing of this information.  You can also choose how Champion  communicates with you.

If you would like to stop receiving information from Champion, you can follow the opt-out instructions provided in any communication message you receive.  Champion will honor your request to stop receiving promotional messages from us, in accordance with your opt-out instructions.  However, we may continue to send you service-related communications such as emails confirming purchases through our websites.  We may also retain your information for recording keeping purposes, for example, to make sure that we fulfill your request not to send any particular type of messages. 

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may exercise your rights in relation to your personal data, including data collected by means of cookies or other technologies, in particular:

You have the right to obtain confirmation of whether personal data concerning yourself are being processed and, where that is the case, access to the personal data and information regarding, inter alia, the purpose of processing, the categories of personal data concerned, the categories of recipients to whom your data have been or will be disclosed, and the envisaged period of time for which personal data will be stored (or the criteria for determining this).

You have the right to request rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning yourself, and to complete incomplete data.

Under certain circumstances you are entitled to request that we erase your personal data or restrict our processing of your data, for example when it is no longer necessary for us to process your data taking into consideration the purposes for which they were collected. 

You have the right to object at any time to processing of your personal data for direct marketing, which includes profiling, to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object to our processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes, including profiling, we will cease such processing of your data.

You have the right to data portability if the processing is based on consent or on a contract and  the processing is carried out by automated means and  where technically feasible. The exercise of this  right shall be without prejudice to the right to be forgotten.

The right to data portability shall not apply to processing necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.    

Please note that if you consider the processing of your data to be in violation of applicable data protection laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence or the place of the alleged infringement.

Please note however that such withdrawal will not affect our right to process your data when such processing is necessary to perform our contractual obligations to you, and/or to the extent we are required to process your data by law or to defend ourselves in a dispute, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to enforce our Terms and Conditions. If you withdraw your approval of this policy, we will however not process your data for any marketing purposes, since we will consider such withdrawal as an objection against such processing.
