We were essential before essentials, original before originals.
And our legacy is rooted in innovation.

Back in 1930s America, football coaches encountered a problem – shrinkage that came from frequent washing of sports gear in big batches.

Always celebrating those who go against the grain, Champion engineered a solution.

Underpinned by Reverse Weave engineering since the 1930s, we are the undisputed heavyweight Champion of sweatshirts.

Our groundbreaking Reverse Weave was invented in 1934 when we started to stitch our sweatshirts and hoodies with a more time-consuming but superior transverse method, a premium design construction technique that prevents shrinkage by flipping the fleece upright and cutting it on the cross-grain. Since being patented in 1952, our Reverse Weave hoodies, sweatshirts and fleeces have stamped cultural landscapes, from sports arenas to the big screen, and the dynamic worlds of hip-hop and punk. They've become a symbol of resilience and authenticity, loved by those who love clothes that are as enduring as their own legacies.

The 'C' logo: Symbol of Excellence Since 1956

Since 1956, the iconic Champion blue and red 'C' logo has graced the left sleeve of every sweatshirt, becoming an emblem of authenticity and craftsmanship. More than just a logo, this distinctive mark symbolises a heritage of innovation and excellence, solidifying Champion’s place as a pioneer in athleticwear. From courtside to the street, the 'C' represents a timeless commitment to quality, inspiring champions for generations.
